Well, where do you start with these things, from the beginning is a very good place to start, where have I heard that before!! Well I am now very much the wrong side of 40 and only just about the right side of 50. I have been dj'ing since 1977 when I started doing radio shows on warships as I was in the Royal Navy at the time, (don't even bother with the hello Sailor bit!!). I progressed on to doing clubs every now and then in between being at sea and so forth. I have always been into soul music even before I knew it was called that. I can remember my first school disco and dancing to Freda Payne's Band Of Gold and thinking it was the best thing I have ever heard, my tastes have progressed somewhat since then. There is something about this music that touches me like nothing else can. I love to listen to it I and love to play it for others even more. I think there is still a lot of good music around now, and things seem to be getting better again, not that it has ever been bad, you just have to know where to look sometimes. I have met some great people through this music, and I hope it never stops. I have achieved many ambitions, including presenting a soul music show on Radio Victory a few years ago. Although I have had to stop my show on JSR due to work committments I am still presenting a weekly show on Falkland Islands Radio (FIRS). This started after my pilgrimage to the Falklands last year as part of the 25th anniversary of the Falklands War. I will also continue to do the odd show here and there on JSR as time allows so all is not lost. There have been many people who have influenced me DJ wise, and nobody has impressed me more than Robbie Vincent with his style of presentation and the music he played. I don't aim to copy anybody, what I do is purely me, but the show is about the music, and not about me. Either way I aim to please and I hope you will enjoy a bit of Soul Heaven".
